ARIANO INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION
V EDIZIONE – SEZIONE "PIANO DUO" (Quattro Mani e Duo su Due Pianoforti)

Art. 1 - Organizzazione e Finalità
L’Associazione Italia Musica organizza, nell'ambito della Quinta Edizione dell'“Ariano International Piano Competition”, la sezione speciale dedicata al Duo Pianistico (Quattro Mani e Duo su Due Pianoforti). La competizione si svolgerà in presenza il 3 Dicembre 2026 presso il Museo Civico e della Ceramica di Ariano Irpino (Avellino - Campania). Il concorso si articola in una prova unica con repertorio libero. L’esecuzione a memoria non è obbligatoria; i candidati possono utilizzare gli spartiti.
Art. 2 - Categorie, Età e Quote di Iscrizione
Le formazioni saranno suddivise in due categorie principali. Il calcolo dell'età per la categoria giovanile si basa sulla media aritmetica delle età dei due componenti alla data dell'8 Novembre 2026:
Cat. JUNIOR: Destinata a duo (quattro mani o duo su due pianoforti) con età media fino a 18 anni (la somma delle età dei due candidati divisa per due non deve superare i 18 anni).
Durata massima dell'esecuzione: 15 minuti
Quota di iscrizione: € 70 per duo
Cat. SENIOR: Destinata a duo (quattro mani o duo su due pianoforti) senza limiti di età.
Durata massima dell'esecuzione: 25 minuti
Quota di iscrizione: € 100 per duo
La Direzione Artistica si riserva la facoltà di suddividere le categorie in sottosezioni distinte qualora il numero dei partecipanti lo renda opportuno.
Prima della prova, i concorrenti dovranno consegnare alla commissione una copia dei brani (obbligatoriamente editi) che saranno eseguiti e una copia di un documento di identità di entrambi i componenti.

Art. 3 - Iscrizioni
Le iscrizioni devono pervenire entro l'8 Novembre 2026 all'indirizzo e-mail [email protected], inviando i seguenti allegati compilati e firmati, unitamente alla ricevuta di pagamento:
1. Scheda di iscrizione e programma di esecuzione (specificando se l'esecuzione avverrà a quattro mani o su due pianoforti);
2. Copia del documento d'identità dei candidati (e del genitore in caso di minori);
3. Copia della ricevuta di pagamento dell'iscrizione intestata a:

Art. 4 - Commissioni e Valutazioni
La Commissione sarà composta da docenti di conservatorio, musicisti professionisti e professori d’orchestra.
Superato il limite massimo di minutaggio previsto per la categoria, la giuria si riserva la facoltà di interrompere l’esecuzione.
La valutazione della prova verrà espressa in centesimi; la media sarà calcolata aritmeticamente escludendo il voto più alto e il più basso.
Art. 5 - Punteggi e Riconoscimenti
Punteggio da 98 a 100: Primo Premio Assoluto e relativo Diploma
Punteggio da 95 a 97: Primo Premio e relativo Diploma
Punteggio da 90 a 94: Secondo Premio e relativo Diploma
Punteggio da 85 a 89: Terzo Premio e relativo Diploma
Punteggio da 84 in giù: Menzione
Premi
Premio Cat. JUNIOR (Miglior primo premio assoluto): Borsa di studio di € 400 + Accesso gratuito alla Masterclass che si terrà nel 2027 con il rinomato duo pianistico Federica Monti e Fabio Bianco.
Premio Cat. SENIOR (Miglior primo premio assoluto): Borsa di studio di € 800 + Accesso gratuito alla Masterclass che si terrà nel 2027 con il rinomato duo pianistico Federica Monti e Fabio Bianco.
I vincitori, per riscattare il premio, sono tenuti a esibirsi gratuitamente durante la serata di premiazione del 6 Dicembre 2026. Il giudizio della Commissione è inappellabile.
Art. 6 - Accettazione del Regolamento
All’atto dell’iscrizione al concorso i candidati (o i genitori/tutori in caso di minori) accettano tacitamente tutte le regole contenute nel presente bando. La quota di iscrizione verrà rimborsata solo nel caso in cui il concorso non possa svolgersi per decisione della Direzione Artistica. In caso di assenza del candidato, comunicata oltre il termine di iscrizione, non sarà possibile il rimborso della quota.
Art. 7 - Regime Fiscale dei Premi
La manifestazione non rientra nel novero dei concorsi e delle operazioni a premio, ai sensi dell’art. 6 comma 1 del DPR 430/2001. Pertanto, ai sensi della Risoluzione n. 8/1251 del 28/10/1976, i premi non verranno assoggettati a ritenuta alla fonte. Resta a carico del percettore del premio l’obbligo di comprendere il valore del riconoscimento e le somme complessive nella propria dichiarazione annuale ai fini della determinazione del reddito.
Art. 8 - Note Legali e Responsabilità
La Direzione Artistica si riserva la facoltà di modificare, integrare o aggiornare il presente regolamento qualora lo ritenga opportuno.
La Direzione Organizzativa si riserva il diritto di annullare il concorso nel caso in cui il numero delle iscrizioni non risulti adeguato al corretto svolgimento della manifestazione.
L’Associazione Italia Musica declina ogni responsabilità per eventuali danni, di qualunque natura, a persone o cose che dovessero verificarsi nel corso della manifestazione.

Art. 1 - Organization and Venue
The Associazione Italia Musica organizes, within the 5th Edition of the "Ariano International Piano Competition", a specialized section dedicated to Piano Duo (Four Hands and Duo on Two Pianos). The competition will take place in person on December 3, 2026, at the Museo Civico e della Ceramica in Ariano Irpino (Avellino - Italy). The competition consists of a single round with a free choice repertoire. Performance from memory is not mandatory; contestants are allowed to use sheet music.
Art. 2 - Categories, Age Limits, and Fees
The competition features two main categories. For the youth category, the age limit is determined by the average age of the two ensemble members as of November 8, 2026:
Cat. JUNIOR: Open to duos (four hands or duo on two pianos) with an average age up to 18 years old (the sum of both candidates' ages divided by two must not exceed 18).
Maximum performance time: 15 minutes
Registration Fee: € 70 per duo
Cat. SENIOR: Open to duos (four hands or duo on two pianos) with no age limit.
Maximum performance time: 25 minutes
Registration Fee: € 100 per duo
The Artistic Direction reserves the right to divide the categories into distinct sub-sections should the number of participants make it appropriate.
Before their performance, contestants must provide the jury with one copy of the scores (which must be officially published editions) of the pieces to be performed, as well as a copy of a valid ID document for both musicians.

Art. 3 - Applications
Applications must be submitted by November 8, 2026, to [email protected], by sending the following documents, filled out and signed, together with the proof of payment:
1. Application form and performance program (specifying whether the performance is for four hands or two pianos);
2. Copy of both candidates' ID documents (and a parent's/guardian's ID in case of minors);
3. Copy of the payment receipt for the entry fee, made payable to:

Art. 4 - Jury and Evaluation
The Jury will be composed of conservatory professors, professional musicians, and orchestra members.
Should a contestant exceed the maximum performance time limit set for their category, the jury reserves the right to interrupt the performance.
The evaluation of the performance will be expressed on a scale out of 100 points; the average score will be calculated arithmetically by excluding the highest and the lowest marks.
Art. 5 - Scores, Awards, and Prizes
From 98 to 100 points: 1st Absolute Prize and relative Diploma
From 95 to 97 points: 1st Prize and relative Diploma
From 90 to 94 points: 2nd Prize and relative Diploma
From 85 to 89 points: 3rd Prize and relative Diploma
84 points and below: Mention
Scholarships and Prizes
The cash scholarship and free masterclass admission will be awarded exclusively to the 1st Absolute Prize winner who achieves the highest overall score in each category:
Cat. JUNIOR Prize (Highest 1st Absolute Prize): € 400 scholarship grant + Free admission to the Masterclass to be held in 2027 with the acclaimed piano duo Federica Monti and Fabio Bianco.
Cat. SENIOR Prize (Highest 1st Absolute Prize): € 800 scholarship grant + Free admission to the Masterclass to be held in 2027 with the acclaimed piano duo Federica Monti and Fabio Bianco.
To claim their scholarship, winning duos are required to perform free of charge during the official Award Ceremony Concert on December 3, 2026. The decisions of the Jury are final and unappealable.
Art. 6 - Acceptance of Rules
By registering for the competition, candidates (or parents/legal guardians in the case of minors) tacitly accept all the regulations contained in this official notice. The entry fee will be refunded only if the competition is canceled by decision of the Artistic Direction. In the event of a candidate's absence, communicated after the application deadline, no refund of the entry fee will be possible.
Art. 7 - Tax Status of Prizes
The event does not fall within the category of prize competitions and operations pursuant to Art. 6, Paragraph 1 of Italian Presidential Decree (DPR) 430/2001. Therefore, in accordance with Italian Resolution no. 8/1251 of 10/28/1976, cash prizes will not be subject to withholding tax at source. It remains the responsibility of the prize recipient to include the value of the award and the total sums received under this title in their annual tax declaration for income determination purposes.
Art. 8 - Legal Notes and Liability
The Artistic Direction reserves the right to modify, integrate, or update these regulations whenever deemed appropriate.
The Organizing Committee reserves the right to cancel the competition if the number of entries is not adequate for the correct execution of the event.
The Associazione Italia Musica declines any liability for any damage, of any nature, to persons or property that may occur during the event.
